HPPAA AACME Elevate Grant 2026
Double Vision Jazz Ensemble Series

Location: Austin, Texas
Presented by: H Project Performing Arts Association (HPPAA)
Featured Ensemble: Double Vision Jazz Ensemble

H Project Performing Arts Association is proud to present the Double Vision Jazz Ensemble Series as part of its 2026 AACME Elevate-supported programming in Austin, Texas.

This grant-supported series advances original contemporary jazz performance, community engagement, youth education, and interdisciplinary artistic collaboration through concerts, workshops, public presentations, and video documentation. The project places Austin-based musicians, composers, educators, and partner organizations in direct conversation with the city’s cultural history and its current creative music community.

Co-led by Hank Hehmsoth and John Mills, Double Vision Jazz Ensemble brings together original composition, improvisation, jazz history, and collaborative performance in programs designed for concert, educational, and community settings. Through HPPAA’s AACME Elevate support, Double Vision’s 2026 activities contribute to Austin’s cultural life through artist-led performance, public access, intergenerational learning, and cross-disciplinary programming.

About the Series

The 2026 Double Vision Jazz Ensemble Series presents a range of public-facing jazz activities in Austin, from historical tribute programming to youth education and new chamber-jazz collaboration. Each event is designed to serve both audiences and artists: presenting high-level original music, supporting working musicians, building partnerships among Austin arts organizations, and creating documentation that can continue to reach the public after the live events.

The series also reflects HPPAA’s broader mission to support creative work that connects performance, education, research, and community engagement.
