Hehmsoth presented a featured selection of visual artworks in connection with the Eddie Durham Celebration at Cephas House in San Marcos, Texas. The installation reflected his broader interdisciplinary practice connecting jazz, abstraction, and public cultural programming, and formed part of the festival’s larger recognition of jazz history and artistic legacy.

Hehmsoth exhibited two digital artworks, The Reach for Innocence and Thought Races, in Expressions of Freedom at Walker’s Gallery in San Marcos, Texas. The exhibition explored the theme of freedom and presented Hehmsoth’s visual-art practice in relation to imagination, identity, and creative thought. Both works were created on iPad Pro using Procreate and Apple Pencil and reflect his broader interdisciplinary practice connecting visual art, abstraction, and musical improvisation.

The Big Show
Round Rock, Texas
2025
Type: Group exhibition
Hank Hehmsoth participated as an exhibiting artist in The BIG Show, presented by Round Rock Arts at Texas State University Round Rock Campus in Round Rock, Texas. His artwork Sax Solo was accepted into the exhibition, which ran from September 10 through November 1, 2025, with an artist reception on September 21, 2025. This exhibition forms part of Hehmsoth’s ongoing visual-art practice and his larger body of interdisciplinary creative work.
Hank Hehmsoth’s artwork Circling In was jury selected for the 2026 Community Gallery Exhibition at San Marcos City Hall. The piece connects Hehmsoth’s visual art practice with his work as a jazz composer and pianist, and is inspired by the spirit of Chick Corea’s Circling In. Circling In is also the title of one of Hehmsoth’s original jazz compositions performed by Double Vision Jazz Ensemble.
