About Me

Hank Hehmsoth is a jazz pianist, composer, and recording artist based in Austin, Texas, with over four decades of contributions to performance, education, and jazz scholarship. A Professor of Practice at Texas State University, Hank has mentored award-winning musicians and performed with legendary artists across the U.S. and internationally. His original music bridges tradition and innovation, blending rich harmony, rhythmic nuance, and expressive improvisation. Hank is also a visual artist and producer, with recent features on PBS and FOX 7 Austin, and articles published in All About Jazz and by the Jazz Journalists Association. As director of the H Project Performing Arts Association (HPPAA), he leads creative collaborations in music, media, and archival preservation.
