Blu-Escape is Hank Hehmsoth’s newest masterpiece, featuring his acoustic quartet Double Vision—saxophonist John Mills, bassist Utah Hamrick, and drummer Aaron Easley. The album blends contemporary jazz, art music, and avant-garde influences, highlighting Hank’s distinctive harmonic language and memorable melodies.

Track Highlights:

The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Bell and mastered by Oli Morgan at Abbey Road Studios in Apple ALAC High Definition and Apple Spatial Audio. A limited edition 180g vinyl pressing, overseen by Jeff Powell, will be available this winter.

Pianist, Composer, Visionary Artist
Hank Hehmsoth’s career is a testament to creativity and innovation. From his early days sharing the stage with Christopher Cross, to his TV broadcast with the legendary Joe Henderson, playing alongside legends like Beverly Sills and Paul Simon, in his early 20’s subbing for Count Basie, to giving jazz piano lessons to film actor Jack Lemmon, Hank has carved out a unique space in the world of music.

His artistry extends beyond music into his Visual Art, where his abstract paintings complement and enhance his compositions, creating a unique synergy of sound and sight. With a reputation as an inventive composer, performer, and educator, Hank continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz and art. His discography includes five albums—Exit, Night Rhythms, Hank Hehmsoth - Piano, Blu-Escape, and A Night of Chick Corea Music—along with 14 tracks featured in internationally acclaimed Compilations. Known for his compelling Improvisations and original Compositions, Hank’s performances capture the essence of jazz while pushing its boundaries.
